A three-tier gabion basket wall, a rock wall, and a riprap wall were constructed to protect the hillside from heavy visitor use and runoff. The project was completed in eight weeks by a four-person crew. All rock was sourced on site and moved with a Griphoist and rock bars. The work redefined a switchback on one of Boulder’s most popular trails. Work was completed for the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Colorado
