A three tiered gabion basket wall, rock wall, and riprap wall were constructed for hillside protection due to high-traffic and water runoff. The project was completed in eight weeks with a crew of four. All rock was located on site and placed by hand if possible, or if necessary, rock was moved using a Griphoist and rock bars. This project redefines a switchback on one of Boulder, Colorado's most popular trails. Work was completed for the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks.
