The project involved building 14 steps with a mono-wall to protect a loose critical edge, as well as a stone wall to redefine the turn. The new build creates space for multiple users, redefines the trail, and re-stabilizes an eroded hillside. A crew of three completed the work in 12 weeks using pick mattocks, shovels, McLeods, rock bars, a Griphoist, rock drills, feathers, wedges, chisels, shaping hammers, and expansion bolts. Work was completed for the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Colorado.
